Kaliti Metal Products Factory (KMPF) was established in 1968 with the objective of producing structural and furniture hollow sections, door and window frame profiles, EGA and ribbed sheets for roofing & wall cladding, pressed and plain sheet metal products and other job order products. The factory is located on the main road to Debrezeit, 20 kilometres away from the center of Addis Ababa (capital of Ethiopia). Kaliti Metal Products Factor occupies a total land area of 130,050 square meters. The brand name Kudhinda is derived from the Shona verb Kudhinda which means to press, to stamp, to print. We present a range of products which are available from our warehouse and shop in Zimbabwe. Kudhinda Fabrics ~ hand printed fabrics, potato cut designs in wall hangings, table and bed linen, cushion covers and clothing. Ros Byrne Pottery ~ unique hand painted Ros Byrne Pottery, tableware, decorative vases, christmas and table decorations ~ produced in ruwa and spongeware technique. Kudhinda Teak Furniture ~ fine polished teak chairs, tables , daybeds, hall tables and beds. Malawi Basketware ~ handwoven fine wicker work chairs side tables and baskets. All Kudhinda companies have adopted fair trade principles, and do not employ children, are gender equal, and committed to clean production and waste disposal, thereby protecting the environment. Kudhinda Fabrics was founded by Ros Byrne in 1989. Her aim was to encourage young school leavers to use their talent for colour and design to create beautiful fabrics. She began by training one young woman to print fabric using potato blocks. Since then the company has grown steadily, employing 60 staff, and now incorporates potato printing, screen printing, cutting and sewing departments.
