The CAGR traces the year-over-year growth rate representing the average gain in the market year-on-year, in this case auguring well for the industry.

Brought to you by the German exhibition organiser, Epoc palyworld exhibition dubaiMesse Frankfurt GmbH, Playworld Middle East, taking place in Dubai from March 6 to 8, 2012 is the ideal platform in which to seize and be a part of this market opportunity. An international trade fair for the world of kids – toys, games and children’s lifestyles, Playworld Middle East is set to attract a range of trade specific visitors from the entire Middle East and Africa region and beyond.

According to industry research, sales of traditional toys were up by almost 5 per cent in some cases across the globe. According to market figures, the global market for toys and games is expected to be worth a whopping US $122.2 billion in 2012.

The toy industry in the region mirrors the growth trend exhibited worldwide. The UAE market is particularly exciting for toy manufacturers, retailers and suppliers as local manufacturing is low, so a large niché exists in the market. Dubai is also a central trade hub, with a huge import and export market between many countries which would otherwise be difficult to reach such as Iraq and Libya.

Dubai’s top 12 major re-export destinations in the GCC, CIS and African countries for kids products are Iran, Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Libya, Pakistan, Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, Azerbaijan and Sudan. While the top countries exporting toys, and baby accessories to Dubai are China, European countries, US and Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

The product profile at Playworld Middle East includes toys and games; baby, infant and pre-school products; toys; bicycles and sport equipment; models and electronics; dolls; and children’s lifestyle products and services. The event is set to attract visitors from the wider Middle East region covering various different business sectors including toy stores; baby product stores; book/stationery stores; department stores and supermarkets; play centres and playgrounds; nursery schools, kindergartens, sports stores/clubs – to name but a few.
